16th Annual Virginia Classic

Mark your calendars now! Plans for the 16th Annual Virginia Classic are underway. Held at the world renowned Virginia Horse Center in Lexington Virginia. .

UPDATES - 3/10/10

• NEW - Fundraiser: We'll be holding a fundraiser auction during dinner and donated items are needed. Please drop off any donations at the show office during check in. THANKS!!!.
• NEW - Photographer: Both photographers have had to cancel. Please bring your own cameras.
• NEW - Bedding: Straw ($6/bale) and cardboard chips ($10/bag) are available at the Barn Office.
• NEW - Supplier: Ridge Mist Llama and Alpaca Supplies will be attending the show.
• NEW - Llama Futurity: Our guest just to round out the panel of three is Dan Goodyear.
• NEW - Schedule
• Alpaca Bred & Owned Yearling Class: Each breeder may enter only one male and/or one female in these classes.
• AMLA Meeting: The AMLA will be holding a membership meeting at the hotel Friday, March 12.
• Miniature Llamas: We'll be using the new ILR height requirements. Any llama exceeding their requirement may enter in the appropriate fiber division instead. Heigh limits are as follows: Juveniles 35"; Yearlings 36"; Two-year-olds 37"; Adults 38".
• Pack classes: Packs do not have to be weighted, just filled out.

The Virginia Classic was established in 1994 (formerly known as the Autumn Classic) and is one of the oldest and longest running alpaca shows in the country.

2009 Blue Ridge Llama and Alpaca Show

The show went well as we broke in the not-quite-finished new arena. The hottest, muggiest day all summer, but the new building provided shade and an amazing breeze.
