April 17 -19, 2009 CENTRAL KENTUCKY LLAMA & ALPACA SHOW & EXPO. ALSA sanctioned show held at the Central Kentucky Ag/Expo in Liberty Kentucky. Hosted by the Kentucky Llama & Alpaca Assoc. this show and EXPO will have vendors, Industry information booths, "show cut" shearing available for $15 an animal, walking fiber classes for llama & alpaca and free farm display areas adjoining the arena on a "first come basis". Exhibitors are encouraged to market their animals, stud services and farm products at the event and KLAA will be advertising the show & expo statewide to bring in spectators. Our judges will be giving detailed explanations on their placings and there will be programs for the spectators to follow along with the show process. Other events will be fiber classes, photo & poster contest, silent auction, "ask the vet." session on Sunday with a local veterinarian and "ask your fiber questions" on Saturday with our fiber judge. August 13-15, 2009: State Fair of West Virginia Llama and Fleece Show, Lewisburg, WV. We will be "Opening the Fair" this year. We are the first livestock in the barn and first livestock in the show ring. Llama Halter, Youth & Fleece Show premiums, ribbons, awards & Best of Show trophies will be presented. April 25-6: Grand Mesa and Kokopelli Llama Classic Shows and Market at the Mesa County Fairgrounds in Grand Junction, Colorado. These two single point ALSA shows are known for their fun tropical theme and relaxed atmosphere. They include a full slate of halter, performance and youth classes, along with walking fiber and shorn fleece judging. This year we are adding a Fashion Lead class in which llamas and garments made from their fiber will be judged. Also new will be a Llama Market area and Promenade to give exhibitors an affordable opportunity to market their animals, breeding programs and products. Aug. 16, 2009: Millarville Fair & Chinook Llama & Fleece Show Millarville Race Track – south and west of Calgary, AB, Contact: Stan Eckstrand Phone: 403-549-2535. The Millarville Fair has been held the third Sat. of August for the last 100 years as of 2007. It is one of the longest running and one of the largest fairs in Canada. It consists of classes for nearly all farm animals, produce, handicrafts, art work, baking etc. The Chinook Llama Club is a proud sponsor and has hosted a llama show here for the past 16 years.
